Bnei Mitzvah
We are happy to welcome families who wish to celebrate an egalitarian ceremony.
Our ceremonies offer the opportunity to incorporate Israeli and personal texts related to the Bar or Bat Mitzvah, allowing you to experience a meaningful, moving, and personalized celebration.
The Bar/Bat Mitzvah ceremony includes the reading of the Maftir (with the option to read an additional part of the Torah portion), the Haftarah reading, and a D’var Torah (speech of Torah insights).
The community's rabbi, Ezra Andy, will accompany the boy or girl in preparation for the ceremony: helping to write the D’var Torah, explaining the structure of the service, and guiding the ceremony itself.
It is customary to hold a Kiddush (a celebratory reception) for all attendees at the synagogue in honor of the occasion.
