Prayer Services

We hold prayer services in Hebrew on Shabbat and holiday mornings starting at 9:15.

All are welcome to join us – come as you are! There is no need to schedule a visit.

We use the egalitarian Israeli Reform siddur “Tefillat HaAdam.” We have bilingual versions for our overseas visitors. Our prayer services integrate tradition and change, including modern Israeli poetry and prayers connected to life in Israel.

Our Shabbat Torah reading is based on the triennial cycle so that we read a third of the weekly Torah reading each Shabbat and finish the entire reading of the Torah in three years.

A central part of our prayer service is the sermon, which is given in Hebrew by our rabbi, a member of the kehillah or a guest speaker. If there is a group visit, then we can arrange for a separate sermon in English for the group. Please let us know in advance so this can be arranged.

At the end of services, a modest kiddush is held, which provides an opportunity for socializing and getting to know one another. Once a month or in honor or special occasions, we hold a festive kiddush.

If you wish to sponsor a kiddush,
please let us know in advance.
